Fuel Injector Service
Stiegemeier up-sized Injectors can be installed and driven
to your tuner without difficulties.
Simply the best Fuel Upgrade Period! By upsizing your OEM Injectors we add fuel at the "Open Loop"
only which means that your "Closed Loop"(idle, part throttle) reatins OEM operation
so No
custom tuning for "Closed Loop" is required.
What makes them so great is that you can install the
resized injectors and drive your vechile to your tuner without difficulties unlike new aftermarket Injectors
that can prevent your vehicle from starting much less being driven.
Re-sized Injectors are marked in
pounds per HR. The cylinder number is scribed on the injector so that you are able to install the top
flowing Injectors in the hottest cylinders.
Tuning is a Breeze
To adjust the A/F simply Remove/Add threw the MAFF Transfer Function as you would with OEM Injectors.
Average tuning requirements would be taking the
entire Lbs/Min Column in the MAFF Transfer Function and multiplying by 0.90 (this is a 10% lean adjustment).
Why is the Injector Service is a good idea?
- Believe it or not, even new injector sets don't always flow at the same rate.
- It is common to see electronic fuel injected motors with rich and lean cylinders.
*This is most often due to dirty or poorly manufactured injectors.* - Even when the A/F ratio is safe, as detected in the exhaust, you can have one or
more lean cylinders while others are too rich.Running with one or more
dangerously lean cylinders and ensure you are maximizing power and mileage. - Most Injectors can be increased 50%.
IMPORTANT - with a resized injecotrs you DO NOT load a higher value file. Simply trim
wide open throttle as you normally would through the MAF transfer function. Subtracting 1%
for every pound added to your injectors is common.
Sample: 50pounds X 11 = 550RWHP potential
- Injector size X 10 Rich OK at 75% duty cycle
- Injector size X 11 Correct at 85% duty cycle
- Injector size X 12 Lean OK at 95% duty cycle
Sample: 58pounds X 11 = 638RWHP potential at 85% duty cycle.
Add 10pounds for 50% E85 injector size to be 68pounds.
- 50% E85 add 10pounds to injector
- 100% E85 add 20pounds to injector
**There are many factors to fuel delivery such as pump voltage, line volume, hose size, injector tuning, etc. On average, the chart above is a good general rule of thumb.**
